In my work, I like to experiment with different textures. Some of my favorite materials I love to work with are glue, sand, and paper. The texture with sand can be varied by the amount and the kind of sand. Sand creates a very grounded and inviting texture. Being in an urban-suburban environment, I find the materials to be somehow limited to what the commercial stores have to offer.  In my Sedona summer colony residency, in the summer of 2018, I experimented with the local sands and whatever nature got to offer in this amazing landscape, I made a serious of small boards that captured the local texture and colors.
